CEDD's 2012 Winter Business Meeting was held immediately following NCSE's 12th National Conference: Environment and Security. Congratulations to Joyce Berry, who was inaugurated as the new CEDD President, and a special thanks to Past President Bill Sullivan for all his hard work and dedication.

CEDD representatives and their designees had the opportunity to network with fellow environmental program leaders, convey challenges and successes, and learn about new initiatives to develop and build upon the environmental programs at their institutions.

The meeting was preceded by an evening reception on January 20 at the W Hotel, which included invited guests from government agencies and non-governmental organizations. During lunch on the following day, John Matuszak, Division Chief for Sustainable Development, Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scienfitic Affairs, U.S. Department of State, provided a special address on the upcoming Rio+20 Conference.The meeting concluded with an evening reception with students and mentors from NCSE’s Washington, DC EnvironMentors Chapter, granting local high school students the chance to interact with environmental faculty and for CEDD members to learn how they can participate in this beneficial college access program.
