North Carolina A&T Chancellor James Renick Joins NCSE Board

Dr. James C. Renick, Chancellor of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, has joined the board of directors of the National Council for Science and the Environment.  

James C. RenickDr. Renick came to North Carolina A&T from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where he served as Chancellor and Professor of Public Administration and Education for six years. Dr. Renick previously served as Vice Provost for Academic Initiatives and External Affairs at George Mason University.  Dr. Renick serves on numerous national boards and foundations including the Presidential Board of Advisors on Historically Black Colleges and Universities, the North Carolina Board of Science and Technology, the Business-Higher Education Forum, the Educational Testing Services Advisory Board, and the Parren J. Mitchell Foundation.

Throughout his career, Chancellor Renick’s work has focused on building partnerships between higher education and the community-at-large, especially in the area of corporate-university relations.  This dedication to building bridges across sectors exemplifies NCSE’s mission and strategic plan.

A native of Rockford, Illinois, Renick earned a B.A. from Central State University in Ohio, a Master of Social Work degree from Kansas University and a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Florida State University
